The Chevy Silverado Reaper is built for Chevy fans who are looking for an answer to Ford’s Raptor, this is the pickup you want in your corner. A joint venture by Ken Lingenfelter’s Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and Southern Comfort Automotive , the Reaper begins with a Chevy Silverado and reworks every inch of it to produce a serious off-road beast.
The Reaper begins life as a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with one of two engines. The 5.3-liter V8 is rated at 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the 6.2-liter V8 bumps up to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft; a 6-speed automatic handles the shifting duties either way.
The new Chevy Reaper was released early this year and carries a base price tag that is in the range of $50,000. This is a vehicle that has no real competition within its segment other than the previously mentioned Ford Ranger. No different than any other Silverado, the Reaper will command not only the roads but also the market within its class.
